A recent book written on The Fine Cotton Affair called The Fine Cotton Fiasco by Peter Hoysted and Pat Shiel is close to the mark on what really happened all those years ago. In fact it’s the first time Bertie Kidd has been mentioned as one of the key instigators of the scheme and if it wasn’t for him the event would probably never have happened. Their story has some creative license used, however is a good read and if you haven’t read it please do so..

Bertie’s version of events surrounding Fine Cotton will be told in a chapter in book 2 of his three part trilogy.
